Pack-the-Place – This Sunday at Doxa

dsc_00132009-06-09This Sunday, August 30th, is Doxa Fellowship’s first “Pack-the-Place” worship service.

While our worship services are always open to the public, we are holding occasional services geared to introduce you to Doxa, our message and mission. We are also now meeting in the beautiful and historic Waverly House in downtown Woodstock and are excited for our friends and neighbors to experience this beautiful place.

Join us this Sunday morning and find out what Doxa is all about as we seek to be a church for the glory of God and the good of Woodstock & McHenry County.

New Song: Refuge

over-the-grave-album-coverToday we learned a new song at Doxa. It’s called “Refuge” and it’s from Sojourn Community Church’s new CD, Over the Grave.

I can’t find audio or video of the song online, but you can get the lyrics here. Soon you should be able to download it at iTunes and Amazon, but not quite yet. For now you can buy it directly from Sojourn.

More new songs from Sojourn coming in the weeks ahead, including “We Are Listening” and “Only Your Blood” (listen to both of these for free at MySpace).

Doxa Fellowship at Waverly House

Doxa Fellowship has a new location for Sunday morning worship! waverly-logo1We are excited to announce that Doxa will begin meeting at the Waverly House in beautiful downtown Woodstock, Illinois.

Waverly House: A part of Woodstock city life since about 1854, Waverly House was first a hotel. It burned down in 1892 but as soon rebuilt to its current exterior design. Waverly House has been recently renovated and is one of the historic, beautiful buildings in downtown Woodstock. We will be meeting in the 3rd floor Waverly Ballroom. The first floor is the soon-to-open Oddfellows Restaurant and Pub. The second floor are offices.

First Sunday: We begin meeting at The Waverly House in the 3rd floor Waverly Ballroom on June 28th at 10:30am. Any updates or changes will be listed here on Doxa Blog.

Parking: You can park and enter The Waverly House on either Main Street (across from the Woodstock movie theater) or Benton Street. The Main Street entrance leads to a staircase to the ballroom.  This will be the main entrance for Doxa. If you need an elevator please use the Benton Street entrance.

In the next couple of weeks we will be posting more information about Doxa @ The Waverly House.
